The race was held on a beautiful first official weekend of summer. The temperature was in the low 70s with plenty of sun and blue sky. A field of approximately 250 runners competed in the 5 mile run with a similar number of additional runners in the preceding 2 mile fun run. The first four finishers in the 5 mile run were:

David Kessler (age 21)
Okelo (age 28)
Steve Johnson (age 41)
Joe Link (age 48)

The top left picture below shows the leaders in the middle of the race. The top center picture shows the winner, David Kessler, entering the finish chute. The top right picture shows fourth place finisher, Joe Link, entering the finish chute. Joe is featured in many other places throughout CapeMayBeach.com. The bottom left picture shows Pat (2nd runner), who works out at North Beach Health and Fitness Club, finishing at a respectable eight minutes per mile.  The twenty-first annual Cape May Point Five Mile Run was held Saturday
in the small Borough of Cape May Point.  The weather was sunny and mild, providing excellent running conditions.  234 runners finished the 2 Mile Fun Run and 264 runners finished the 5 Mile Run. The run is for the benefit of the Cape May Point Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and is sponsored by many merchants in the area.
