Douglass Memorial Park


David Douglass memorial park is located on the north side of the mouth of the Cape May Canal. This is a beautiful area of wild dunes, a small boardwalk, a fishing jetty, and a few pavilions. The leftmost picture below shows the sign at the entrance to the park. The actual memorial and David Douglass' resting place, shown in the right picture, is beautifully located at the canal's edge with a view of the water and passing boats.

One of the pavilions, on the back edge of the beach, is frequently used for picnics. This pavilion is shown in the left picture below. The right picture shows the park from across the canal. The flag shows where the actual memorial is located.
